Protestors gather outside BHP AGM in Sydney

A protest is taking place outside BHP Billiton’s Annual General Meeting in Sydney.

The tenure of chief executive Marius Kloppers is expected to be at the top of the agenda, but social and environmental activists are trying to force environmental and social issues to the fore.

BHP ran the OK Tedi Copper mine in Papua New Guinea, which it handed over more than a decade ago after an environmental controversy.
